As students return to classes this week at Mascoma Valley Regional High School, they will be welcomed by a new main entrance that was built during phase one of construction this summer. Construction Management firm Eckman Construction of Bedford started work this spring and put in long hours to get school ready for students this week.
“We progressed at a great clip, often having over 100 workers on-site, all in an effort to get ready for this opening week,” said Dan Bolduc, Project Superintendent, Eckman Construction. “Communication and teamwork of all parties involved has been excellent and those were driving factors in getting this facility reading for occupancy. When we had our walk through last week, there were no surprises, and that’s really a credit to how well the subcontractors, our employees and members of the school have worked together on this project.”
Once renovations and additions are complete, Mascoma Valley Regional High School will feature a 500-seat auditorium and performing arts theater, new library media center, new main office and energy efficient upgrades throughout the facility. Construction on the school is being phased to minimize interruptions and will continue throughout this school year. The newly renovated facility is scheduled to be completed by September of 2016.
