The Milton Fire Department held a ceremonial ribbon cutting on Saturday, February 18, 2017 to celebrate the opening of their new Fire and Rescue station. The Herbert Downs Fire-EMS Station, recently completed by Bedford-based Eckman Construction, is a 9,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art facility that provides a larger, safer and more functional space for Milton’s Fire and Rescue teams.
“The Milton staff demonstrates a passion and devotion to public safety, and their new facility reflects that commitment,” said John Deloia, Vice President, Eckman Construction. “Chief Marique and his staff now have a facility with all the space and amenities they need to best serve the residents of Milton for years to come.”
The new facility, located at 865 White Mountain Highway in Milton, NH, offers the Milton staff a larger and more useful space that features four apparatus bays, training areas, turnout gear space, offices, two dorms and a new dispatch center.
Construction finished ahead of schedule and under budget. Cowan-Goudreau Architects of Concord, NH provided design services for the project.
