Project Description
Eckman served as Construction Manager, under contract to two separate owners, for the construction of the Senior Center and the Temple Street Elderly Housing. The Senior Center is a 23,000 square foot, two-level building with a large multi-purpose room, kitchen, and associated offices for staff, and facilities for exercise and dance, music and cards, billiards, crafts, computer, and health. This center is open to all senior citizens residing in the greater Nashua area.
The Temple Street Elderly Housing complex consists of 43 units in a 59,312 square foot, four-level building. Each unit has a living room/dining area, kitchen, one bathroom, and one closet. Resident laundry facilities, library, and community room are on the first floor.
Funding for the Elderly Housing project was from a HUD-202 grant, and the Senior Center was primarily funded by a bond from the City, with additional funding made possible by The Association for the Elderly, Inc., and other sources.
