Eckman Construction successfully managed the expansion of both the Newmarket Junior/Senior High School and Elementary School for the Newmarket School District. These multifaceted projects involved 127,000 square feet of additions and renovations across two active school campuses. Recognizing the complexities of working within occupied facilities, Eckman developed complex phased construction plans for each school. These phased approaches ensured the safety and security of students and staff while maintaining a controlled construction environment, ultimately enabling on-time and budget project delivery.
At the Elementary School, Eckman delivered 22,000 square feet of new construction, including a gymnasium, a state-of-the-art commercial kitchen, dedicated Grade-5 classrooms, a modern Pre-Kindergarten wing, and innovative flexible learning spaces. Concurrently, targeted renovations enhanced existing facilities. At the Junior/Senior High School, the scope exceeded 50,000 square feet of new construction, complemented by comprehensive renovations. Key project objectives, successfully achieved by Eckman, included expanding classroom capacity, enhancing campus security with a new main entrance, improving student circulation, maximizing natural light in classrooms, and consolidating art facilities into a dedicated space.
