Project Description
The Medical & Surgical Building on the former grounds of the NH State Hospital stood vacant for almost 20 years before Eckman completed additions and renovations. Our team completed the total gut renovation of the building for use as the headquarters of the State Department of Revenue Administration. In addition to offices, it includes conference rooms, a hearing room with audio equipment and a secure mail room. Eckman worked closely with the owner to design an elegant public entrance and lobby area which meets their security requirements.
The courtyard of the building was filled in with a 4-story addition. New windows, roof, mechanical, HVAC, electrical, fire protection, data, and security systems were installed. Eckman worked with an arborist to design the drainage detention systems and parking to avoid impacts to a number of historically significant trees.
