Eckman Construction successfully managed the construction of The Factory on Willow, a transformative adaptive reuse project in Manchester, NH. This project involved the comprehensive renovation of the historic Cohas Shoe Factory, a circa-1880s structure spanning approximately 84,350 square feet. Under Eckman’s guidance, the dilapidated mill building was meticulously revitalized into a vibrant mixed-use art community. The renovated space now boasts 77 thoughtfully designed live-work apartments and micro-hotel units, alongside a diverse array of commercial and retail spaces.
The Factory on Willow’s vision extends beyond mere construction, aiming to cultivate a thriving cultural hub. The project incorporates dedicated green spaces, fostering a sense of community and providing a welcoming environment for residents and visitors alike. The integration of cafes, retail outlets, art galleries, and outdoor entertainment spaces promises to enrich the surrounding neighborhood, creating a dynamic destination that attracts both locals and tourists. This successful collaboration between Eckman Construction, Market Square Architects, and The Factory on Willow exemplifies the power of adaptive reuse in revitalizing historic structures and contributing to the revitalization of urban areas.
