Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) and Building Information Management (BIM) offer opportunities to understand and experience the interaction of building systems during design and pre-construction. It represents the evolution from traditional 2D design to the 3D realm and, as such, it offers unique opportunities to understand and experience the interaction of systems before they are built.
Our team uses VDC alongside traditional 2D drawings to allow for a complete constructability and systems coordination review as a project progresses. These advanced coordination tools are compatible with various file formats including those from the AutoCAD and Revit product families. The clash detection capability of the software is helping to improve building system coordination at this project by identifying and avoiding system conflicts before they are discovered during construction.
