Eckman Construction provided Construction Management Services for a comprehensive renovation of the Dresden Elementary School, a project situated on a site formerly shared with Richmond Middle School. This 188,000 square foot renovation involved phased construction to accommodate ongoing student learning. Major renovations included the creation of a new atrium/lobby with a striking second-floor bridge and exposed brickwork, the transformation of a former gymnasium into a 475-seat auditorium, and the addition of a state-of-the-art commercial kitchen and media center.

Extensive upgrades encompassed mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, featuring skylights, two elevators, a combination wood-chip and oil-fired boiler system, window replacements, and a comprehensive system to seal exterior air infiltration. Significant site improvements were also undertaken, including enhanced pedestrian accessibility with new walks, a welcoming patio, upgraded fencing, and the addition of granite benches, lighting, and street-print. The project also included improvements to the physical education fields and the addition of expanded parking and new utilities.
